FOR OUR FUTURE:
|
CANDIDATE FOR TEXAS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DISTRICT 73 |

Where I Stand on the Issues |
||
| Issue | Yes to . . . . | No to . . . . |
| Long Range Planning |
Smaller government. Thorough evaluation and careful allocation of existing state revenues. Lower taxes. |
Quick fix band aids on old problems. Short term solutions for long term requirements. |
| Water |
Long range planning for ground and
surface water, desalination, and water independence. State-wide planning to insure water for our great-grand children. |
Lower private property values due to
lack of water. Lower water quality. Less water availability. |
| Public Education |
Excellence in public education and
professional regard for teachers. Educational opportunities for all Texas children. |
School vouchers. Higher taxes. Additional bureaucracy.
|
|
Highways and Roads |
Free public roads.
Long range planning for alternate transportation. Appropriate use of existing tax dollars for road development and repair. |
Converting existing public roads to
toll roads. The Trans Texas Corridor with waste of prime farm land, tax revenues, and resources. Foreign contracts controlling our roads. |
|
Increasing Population Pressures |
Allowing each county, by vote of its
citizens, to allow the County Commissioners to assist its citizens. Assuming local control to maintain quality of life for increasing population. Encouraging the development of livable communities that foster long term business development and an increased tax base. |
Unrestricted development with
destruction of the beauty of the Hill Country. Ignoring infrastructure requirements demanded with increased development and population. |
|
Our Veterans |
Supporting our active duty and retired
military with quality VA Hospitals and Clinics.
Providing promised health coverage. |
Breaking promises made veterans and
retirees. Cutting Veterans Hospitals, healthcare services, benefits and access to quality care. |
|
YES TO HONESTLY REPRESENTING THE CITIZENS OF DISTRICT 73 ON ALL THE ISSUES |

Here is a recent handout . D A N I E L B O O N E Candidate for Texas Legislature, District 73 1610 FM 484 – Canyon Lake Texas 78133 www.BooneforTexas.com 830-223-5111 Diligence is the price of freedom “The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie—deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic.” John F. Kennedy I believe we are facing today, a number of myths that must be dispelled. We must demand that our government act on the truths that will address real issues - to lead us into the 21st century with strength to order and to preserve our way of life, and to pass on our legacy for our children’s future. Myth # 1 We must trust our government to those who believe they know better than we, the people, what is best for us. Myth # 2 We must accept the decisions of the “deciders” as they hold the Power. Myth # 3 There is not enough money to accomplish what needs to be done without the addition of taxes to fund government decisions. Myth # 4 Unless we submit without question to these demands, we will be overrun by the invaders and destroyed as a nation. These are the myths that we must face and dispel with the truth- that we, the people, are the best resource to decide what needs to be done, how we should do it, and how we shall go about best funding what needs to be done. This is true for our national government and for the State of Texas. * We can best decide how to manage the explosion of growth in our state. (Apparently others are discovering what we knew all along – Texas and the Hill country is a great place to live). * We can best decide how to manage and protect our public education system. * We can best decide how to manage our public transportation system without foreign intervention, design and construction of toll roads. It is “we” who can best decide what is best for “us”. To get this message across it is necessary that we send to our legislature those who understand that the purpose of a legislator is to carry out the wishes of the people. Our legislators must always remember that the “government belongs to the people” not that the people are a resource for the government. In a democracy, the power lies with us, the people. I understand these differences and ask that you send me to the legislature to carry that message to the government while carrying out the wishes of the people of District 73. To accomplish this goal, I need the support, encouragement and direction from the people. Together we can and must prevail.
