More Background Information about Daniel Boone:

  • Served as an enlisted man in both the US Navy, US Army and completed a 26 year military career as an Officer in the United States Air Force.
  • Shared the struggles many of us face. His family suffered poverty and privation during his early years. Dan harvested potatoes in Idaho, kept watch in a northwest Oregon fire tower, and worked as a laborer, roofer and a concrete worker.

After service as an enlisted man, the G.I. Bill made it possible for Dan to attend college. He found he loved learning and after completing a doctorate in Experimental Psychology in 1975, was offered a Commission in the United States Air Force along with the opportunity for additional education. He successfully completed his internship in Clinical Psychology at the Waco, Texas, Veterans Administration Hospital. With a university background in physics, his wide educational background became very useful to the Air Force, making Dan a welcomed member of many military teams; primarily in Human Factors Engineering and Contract Management. Completing his years of service as an officer in the US Air Force, Dan retired from active duty with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with numerous awards and medals.

Additional Professional Experience:

Dan has worked in the hospitality business for the last 12 years. He owned and operated the popular Aardvark Annie’s’ Restaurant at Canyon Lake until the flood of July 2002. He continues to actively oversee lodging facilities in both San Antonio and Canyon Lake, and also maintains the small family ranch. These experiences have increased his understanding of the frustrations faced daily by owners of small businesses; taxes, paperwork, mandates, employee issues and government regulations.

Married for nearly 25 years to his wife, Robbi, they have four grown children and four young grandchildren. In addition to Dan’s teaching experience, Robbi and their three girls are all educators who have taught in Texas, California, Illinois, and Florida. Additionally, their son speaks and teaches at professional conferences throughout the country.

Dan believes that he is responsible only to you, the people of District 73. Dan promises to represent your interests and the needs of our district.

Committed to public service, Daniel Boone is asking for your vote for the Texas House of Representatives in 2008.
